Pigeon Forge Tennessee Lodging
Pigeon
Forge hotels provide a home away from home for all kinds of people.
An upsurge of visitors – young and old, single and married – is
retreating to the Pigeon Forge area for a number of reasons. Some
of the 11,000-plus tourists that wander into the city every year
are fulfilling resolutions to hike the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park; others such as engaged couples flee to the recreational area
to exchange wedding bands and vows to spend a lifetime together.
However, not only does the national landmark drive travelers to
Pigeon Forge, but the town’s blossoming image as one of the fastest-growing
tourist cities in the South also pulls in curious vacationers –
and area hotels remain on standby to scoop them up too. Pigeon
Forge hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, and other accommodations
put city guests amid the Great Smoky Mountains so they can fulfill
whatever their hearts desire.
Visiting Pigeon Forge
The many amusements located within the Great Smoky Mountains region
have an appeal of their own. An aged mill, located in the heart
of Pigeon Forge, drudges to educate residents and spectators about
the city’s past. The Old Mill, which has been grinding from the
center of town for more than a century, symbolizes a period in history
when the nation was at war and the city acquired its name. The 150-year-old
mill, a national historic site today, is one of the many draws of
Pigeon Forge. Dollywood, another city attraction, lures more than
2 million people every year as the most-visited theme park in Tennessee.
Pigeon Forge, however, doesn’t only cater to sightseers; shoppers
also are in for a treat when they sift through – what Southern Living
magazine readers call – the “favorite shopping spot in the South.”
